Our tube preamplifier, “The Phono”, can be configured in white, black, or anthracite at the specified price. Other RAL colour options are available on request for an additional charge to ensure seamless integration with your room design. Exceptional execution ensures all our preamplifiers offer high-quality music enjoyment for decades to come, however, for particularly discerning vinyl enthusiasts, we can incorporate additional premium materials. - The amplifier unit and the power supply are constructed separately and connected with special, low-interference cables.
- We recommend placing “The Phono” directly next to your turntable as this ensures short signal paths for the low-level signal currents from the cartridge to the phono preamplifier.

High-quality components
Manufactured from exceptionally thick colour-customisable sheet steel, the chassis of “The Phono” provides strong magnetic shielding and excellent device stability. Solid copper RCA connectors ensure material integrity, with the option for gold, silver, or rhodium plating on request.
Tube preamplifier improves sound quality
To prevent sound distortion, audioCulture has developed a custom external power supply with active filtering and special cables to provide the preamplifier with clean, smoothed power.
Other distortion reducing features include a “subsonic” input filter, silver-plated conductive components, and a Teflon circuit board for improved isolation. Highly stable mica capacitors in all sound-influencing signal paths complete the picture, supporting extremely low tolerances with “The Phono” using fewer, high quality components throughout to ensure consistent music enjoyment over many decades.
Reduced interference and distortion-free performance
To compensate for any interference, the output transformers of “The Phono” are hand-wound and use a double-coil cut-core design. Thanks to a special wideband winding technique, they cover a frequency range from 15 to 150,000 Hz. Silver-plated copper shielding further minimizes high-frequency disturbances while the nanocrystalline material of the core ensures distortion-free performance at low frequencies.
Bluetooth expansion for wireless active speakers
Thanks to its special input stage, “The Phono” offers low output impedance without feedback and low noise. Place it near your turntable to ensure short signal paths for low cartridge voltages and enjoy clean transmission over long cables to the power amplifier.
For a connection with wireless active speakers, “The Phono” also includes a high-quality Bluetooth connection compatible with the Bluetooth 24-bit standard.
